Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Seminars & Events at True Virtues
At True Virtues, we are committed to providing our students with access to the highest level of instruction in the world. Beyond our regular weekly classes, we regularly host seminars with elite guest instructors, world champions, and renowned martial artists.
We believe that to be the best, you must learn from the best. Our seminar programme brings global expertise directly to our mats in Wimbledon.

Past Elite Instructors
We have a proud history of hosting some of the biggest names in the grappling world. These events offer our students a deep dive into specific systems and high-level technical details.
True Virtues was honoured to host Ffion Davies, one of the most dominant grapplers on the planet.
Ffion shared the exact mechanics of her aggressive game, providing masterclass details on Half-Guard with a high knee shield and intricate Tarikoplata finishing details. Students spent the afternoon learning how to turn defensive positions into high-percentage submission threats using world-class mechanics.
Renowned BJJ artist and practitioner Seymour Yang, better known as "Meerkatsu," visited the academy to share his unique perspective on BJJ defence.
Seymour stressed the elements of a defensive philosophy effective for protecting oneself and slowing down the game to think through complex problems under pressure, simply by not playing the game of Jiu Jitsu.
Avoiding given the opponent opportunities, and protecting yourself first. Almost a kind of Anti-Jiu Jitsu tactics.
As Mike’s direct instructor, Professor Mark Phillips is a regular guest for our Yearly Skills Days.
During this session, Professor Mark critiqued general form and provided an outside perspective on our students' technical progress.
Most recently, he shared fascinating insights into distance management and posture when approaching and passing sophisticated guard players.
True Virtues is a proud and avid collaborator with the Artemis BJJ network. Mike is a regular fixture at these camps across the UK, travelling to train and share knowledge with the wider grappling community.
When these camps grace our mats in Wimbledon, they bring a wealth of diverse technical knowledge and some of the most respected instructors in the country, including Can Sönmez (Slideyfoot), Daniel Tighe, Grant Cruickshank, and Knut Wake.
These multi-academy events are a highlight of our calendar, offering an intensive training environment where students can roll with new partners and learn unique systems in a friendly, ego-free atmosphere.
